So Hot and Humid in the South...

Well I took these pics of some pots I have on my front porch. I got the pots from Sam's Club, and they are sort of bronzed, but you can hardly see them, for all of the cascading flowers. When I bought plants to go in these pots, I had no idea how beautiful they would turn out to be. Of course, caladiums always do well, but this year I tried something different. I bought some of those double bloom petunias (which are not a fan of the sun, i learned this the hard way), they've done exceptionally well, i also added something called mmmm...having a senior moment, can't remember them, and i just stuck, and yes i literally "stuck" the lime green sweet potato vine in these pots, and it took off. Anyhow, these pics were taken yesterday before i watered them, i planned to show some pics after watering today when i got home, and they look terrible. Will try to post pics later!! Kelli

Hi, Kelli ...

Just a note to say 'hello,' and welcome you to the wonderful world of blogging. What a cute name for your blog and your picture of Cooper and Conner is so precious.

I read your mom's blog every day and I'm sure I'll be back to visit you again soon, too.

Sincerely,

Janie

Welcome to the blogging world!
Your porch looks very inviting and I think that I'm going to have to try that recipe. It looks like a dish my boys would like.

Welcome to blogland! Since reading your blog, I have learned a new recipe, fallen in love with container gardening, and stared at the brick work on your porch area for an hour. ;-) My mom is a master at container gardening. If you'd like to see some, I have them on my blog--4th of July-ish. I'll be back, and I hope you enjoy blogging!!

Me again Kelli! I forgot to answer your question! Yes the hydrangeas were a plant from my husband. The pic was taken the first day and I almost lost the whole plant because I planted it on the side of my house and forgot how much water a new plant needs! I caught it in time though!!! Jeannette

Hi Kelli! I guess my first comment didn't take? Well I'm glad you stopped by. Your new look is adorable but you can't go wrong with Cooper and Conner in the picture! Knitting is easy and you should try it - matching sweaters for the boys would be so cute! Another great plant for pots is coleus (as long as you remember to water that is!) Those senior moments only get worse you know!!! Stop by again, Jeannette (if this is a duplicate comment - sorry!)

They look great! I don't have as much luck with plants. I guess I think if I'm comfortable in the house the plants outside must be fine too LOL! That's not good logic for caring for plants.

take care,
Dawn

Love your plants Kelli, of course gardening is my passion. I haven't tried multiple potting of plants, but I want to. I get so busy and end up just buying what I want. The weather here in the mountains is not humid and hot. I am thankful for that.

Have a happy day,

Jeanne

Beautiful planters! Love them! I've seen so many people using sweet potato vine lately. I need to give it a try.
