Baby Presley & Pretty Things...
As most of you know, I don't have a little girl, but very soon I will have a niece, Presley. She is scheduled to arrive on November 23rd, God willing, or maybe she will choose to arrive early. (wouldn't that be fun~)
My sister in law Erin, and her husband Ryan (My husband's brother), are expecting their first child. Of course we are all excited. She will be the first girl within our family...I have two boys, so she will be spoiled rotten, no doubt about that.
I can't help it when I'm out shopping, I just seem to graze over by the baby girl section. I've never been able to shop for little girls, with the exception of buying a baby shower gift. This however, is different.
We are going trick or treating with Ryan & Erin this weekend. They live in such a sweet little neighborhood, where Halloween is celebrated the "right" way..LOL
I will be sure to post plenty of pics of that.
I bought a few things for Presley while shopping at Wal-Mart the other day. At Erin & Ryan's baby shower, they didn't receive things that are fundamental for infants during the winter. Although everything they got was precious...of course, but just not what they needed. Being new parents, they will have a lot to learn...but that's the fun part.
Here are the few sweet things for Presley...can't wait to give to Erin, so she can add to Presley's wardrobe...

A Birthday for Two
This is the birthday invitation for the boys this year.
Connor, born September 30, 2002
Cooper, born October 16, 2007
This year I am planning a birthday party for both of my boys. Their birthdays are 5 years, 2 weeks, apart. This year, Connor and me were both sick, and laying in bed most of the day on his birthday. He had the flu, I had strep throat. Needless to say, we didn't do a whole lot of celebrating. We slept most of the day.
On Cooper's birthday, I was on call that weekend, so we really couldn't plan a party. We decided to combine their parties this year. I'm so excited, and I think they will be too.
We will be having a huge bonfire, complete with roasted weenies, marshmallows, and smores. The party wouldn't be complete without a hayride.
Stayed tuned for more pictures!!
Happy 7th Birthday to Connor
Happy 2nd Birthday to Cooper
I love you both so very much!!!

Happy Fall Yall
It's been a long time since I've blogged about anything. I sort of jumped on the Facebook bandwagon....and can't seem to jump off. I'm loving this beautiful fall weather here in Mississippi that we are having! Looking for some inspiration for blog posts. Keep checking back...hopefully some inspiration will hit me!! This is one of the most recent pics of the boys. Connor age 7, and Cooper age 2(on October 16). They both LOVE yoo-hoo's. Connor calls them yahoos, Cooper calls them boo-hoos...go figure....I love this picture of them though. They play so good together...most of the time...they have their moments where they fuss and fight...but I know how much they love each other....there's nothing like a sibling to love and hang out with.
Thanks for stopping by today:)

Our New Puppy
This past week, a friend of mine mentioned that she was thinking of finding a new home for her dog, Lucy. I immediately told her I would love to take the dog and give her a new home.
She's an English Springer Spaniel, and she's 7 months old. She's already house broken, which is a definite plus.
I picked Connor and Cooper up Friday afternoon, and told them I had a surprise for them. We went over to my friends house to get her. Connor didn't act too excited at first, but by the time we got home, we were in love with her.
Chad (my husband) was out of town, and coming home that evening. It was a surprise for him too. (LOL). He was almost instantly smitten with her.
She's very energetic, yet gentle with the boys. She seems the be the perfect pet for our family. I hope we have many years to enjoy her!
Hope you have a great week!!

Hydrangeas
I found this beautiful Hydrangea plant at Wal-Mart early Saturday morning. It was marked 1/2 price because it looked at little sick.
I hope to recover it, to enjoy its beauty in the years to come.
I love getting bargains on plants!
Have a great day!!

A New Place to Shop and a Thrify Find!!
Hey ya'll!
I know it's been a long time since I've posted on my blog. I find it hard most days to think of anything to blog about!
My mother-in-law called me yesterday afternoon about a new place she found out in our community to shop. She wanted to know if I wanted to go today, so this afternoon, we checked it out!
The name of it is Moonbeam Vintage. Don't you just love that name?
It's an old house with tons of antiques, what nots, collectibles, and many vintage items. I didn't take my camera today, and I wish I had. Next trip, I plan to take it, but that will be another post.
Today I found the most precious little table for $7. I put it on my back porch for now. I don't know if this is where I'll keep it. The lady that owns the shop has a daughter, and she paints . She will be getting out of college soon for the summer, so there will probably be many more posts with her work. She is very talented.
Hope ya'll have a great weekend!!

New Easter Pic!!
This is the new Easter Pic of the boys that I promised in the last post. My mom kept them Friday night and part of Saturday, because both my husband and I were on call for our jobs.
I went to Wal-Mart Friday night when I got off work, and picked up some clothes for the boys to wear on Saturday. It was just easier than driving all the way home and back to my mom's, since I was tired. The clothes just happened to sort of "match".
My mom and dad took them to the mall to have their picture made with the Easter Bunny. I think Cooper was totally scared of him. He had been crying in this picture, but for a split second, he quit, and they snapped the picture. Cute enough huh? I think so anyway. I'm biased though.
Hope you have a great day!!

I Heart Faces
This week's theme on i heart faces is "Messy Faces". I thought the perfect picture for this week would be one of Cooper, eating a blueberry poptart on Christmas morning. He was enjoying it a little too much I think.
Enjoy your week!!

This week on i heart faces....wonder
I couldn't help but look at this picture and think, now that is the perfect picture of "wonder". Cooper is so easy to photograph now, because he is learning so much everyday.
This photo was taken this past week at his brother's soccer practice. He was looking at an airplane flying over us. We have a navy base where we live, and the pilots fly over us all of the time. This particular plane kept flying over us for several minutes, but I captured Cooper's first "wonder" of it!
Have a great day!! Be sure to check out i heart faces for other entries this week.

Spring Is Just Around The Corner...
Sunday after church, we let a friend of Connor's come home to play. We went out for lunch, then came home and they played and they played and they played. It was pretty enough outside, probably around 65 degrees, that they were able to play outside for most of the afternoon. The parents of Connor's friend are friends of ours, and they had some much needed pruning to do in their yard. When they picked their son up, they brought me this bunch of daffodils. In the pre-spring here in the South, around the end of February to March they start popping up everywhere!! Aren't they beautiful? They smell wonderful too! I'm so ready for Spring to arrive!!

A Valentine's Surprise!!!
This Valentine's Day is very special to me. My husband works for one of the local power companies, and he's been in Kentucky for 7 days helping restore power after their winter storm.
I've been on call this weekend, so my mom has been at my house with our boys. I was taking a nap, and he walked in with a card, (a very sweet one i might add) and holding something behind his back. He told me he would understand if I didn't like it, so he gave me the bag, and low and behold, guess what was in it?
Yep, a purse, a Coach purse at that!! I couldn't believe it. I think I"m still in shock!! It's beautiful isn't it? I had to put the cute pic in of him with our boys. We were all soooo happy to see him!
Happy Valentines's Day!!

i heart faces week 5 theme silly
This week's theme on i heart faces for kids is silly. This is a picture of Cooper that I took while he was in the bathtub. He was really enjoying his bath that night. The way the camera catches the drops of water in the air adds a cool effect. Please visit the link for more entries in this week's contest. Have a great day!!

New For Spring! Coach Handbags!!
I've been looking at new spring handbags online, and decided to do a post on some of my favorite handbags from Coach.
These are all new looks for spring. I can't quite figure out which one is my favorite. I love all the bright colors, textures, and shapes of all the handbags.
They are quite pricey though. It never hurts a girl to look does it?
Which one is your favorite?
Coming later in the week...Coach accessories for spring!
Have a great day!

The 6th folder, & 6th picture
I've been tagged by Diane at A Picture Is Worth 1,000 Words, to pick the 6th folder and 6th pictures from My Pictures on the computer.
In this photo, Connor, who is now 6, was about 18 months old at the time, was getting his very first haircut. He was holding the infamous "brown bear", which is a whole other blog post....
I don't know if you can tell from the picture, but I'm very teary-eyed. It was an emotional experience for me. Cutting off all that baby hair wasn't easy. Of course like any Southerner, I saved the clippings of hair. I still have it, and would be heartbroken if I ever lost it.
Thanks Diane for this tag...these are my favorite tags...always fun to do!
Have a great day!!

The Eyes Have It
This week for the i heart faces contest the theme for kids/adults is The Eyes Have It. For this picture, I chose one of Connor. This picture of him was taken on the beach last summer, and his eyes just pop with the ocean as a beautiful backdrop. The contrast of his red hair and blue eyes is such a beautiful combination!
Please be sure the visit the link to see more beautiful photographs!
Have a great week!!

i heart faces winners ....
This is the photo that won the i heart faces contest this week. The theme this week was J-O-Y
I've been anxiously awaiting all week for the winners of the i heart faces photograph blog contest. Of course I entered Cooper's picture this week. He didn't win, but I would like to share with you the photograph that won, and some of their top picks. I love this blog, it's the coolest , especially if you're even remotely into taking pictures, and trying to capture that special moment.
See above for pictures, I have yet to figure out how to post pictures as I go. Some of their favorites follow....they did a top ten, and I picked out of those a couple of my favorites!! Enjoy!

Fireproof: A Must See Movie
On Friday night , a local non-denominational church offered a free showing of the movie Fireproof. It stars Kirk Cameron, who starred in "Growing Pains" back in the 1980's. He is also known for the movies made from the "Left Behind" series of books.
I would recommend this movie to all married couples. It is a tear-jerker, however, the tears are well worth it. My husband even loved it too. It tells a great story of a married couple in crisis, and how they work things out with their faith in Christ, and each other.
I'm so glad that we went to see the movie, even though I was tired and really didn't feel like going. It's also kid-friendly. We took Connor with us to see it, and he really enjoyed it too.
I think the movie should be out on DVD by now. It hasn't been that long since it was released in theaters. Just a recommendation for a good movie to watch over the weekend!!
Have a great day....

I love faces entry...
I found this new blog website from Katie at Blessed By 3 Miracles. It's such a cute thing to do if you have kids or grand kids, even nieces or nephews.
The name of it is, i heart faces. They choose a weekly winner for kids, and they have an adult category too. Every week there's a new theme. This week , the theme is JOY. I picked this picture of Cooper for this week. We took this picture of him at Disney World. I think it fits JOY, don't you? Please visit their website at: http://iheartfaces.blogspot.com/.
Thanks for visiting!!
What's for supper tonight? Do you get tired of hearing this...here's an easy fix...
Sometimes my husband doesn't have to say a single word to me, and I already know what he's thinking. What's for supper? Well, sometimes I feel like cooking more than others. It hits me in spurts. I'm sure some of you can agree with me on that one, especially if you work full time/have kids/have a house to keep up.
Last week, I was really feeling burnt out on what to cook. Since we were running a little low on groceries, I decided what I wanted to fix. It's something my husband and 6-year old son love. So, I went to the pantry, and , well, I didn't have all the ingredients I needed. So, I had to come up with plan B. I had some cube steaks defrosted. The week before I bought some Jimmy Dean Sausage Gravy mix (the ones in the packets). So, I fried up the cube steaks in my beautiful black iron skillet, popped some of those Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits in the oven, and whipped up the sausage gravy(2 packets). I have to say, it was absolutely delicious!! It doesn't sound like much, but it's very filling!!
My husband and son were in the woods deer hunting, and I was expecting them home any minute. An hour after the supper was finished, they arrived home. I couldn't wait on them, so I went ahead and ate by myself:( They had to heat it up, but they both enjoyed it too. So, this week I made it again! I think it's going to be my new favorite thing to cook!! I took pictures this week so ya'll could see what it looked like...LOL. Try it and enjoy!!
Have a good week!!
